Jennifer Newton is an attorney, compliance executive, educator, and speaker with more than 17 years of experience advising startups, founders, financial institutions, and growing businesses on legal, regulatory, compliance, and risk management matters.
She is the Founder and Principal Attorney of StartSmart Counsel, PLLC and the Founder & CEO of the National Association of Black Compliance & Risk Management Professionals (NABCRMP). Jennifer also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Fordham University School of Law and previously held leadership roles in the fintech industry, including Chief Compliance Officer. She also serves as an advisor on the SEC’s Small Business Capital Formation Advisory Committee.
